These services can be in person, or online.  I'm fully capable to run video conferencing/training for distant clients.  Whether you just need a few pointers, or a veritable coach, we will build a flexible and effective program to bring your best body to the stage.

Prices for these services are totally dependent on your needs, but my standard hourly rate for putting together programs, diets, and consulting is 30/hr.  Payment can be arranged on an "as we go" basis as I understand you may not know exactly what you'll need at the outset.

Time required for contest prep depends on body composition at your start date, based on the target date of your show.  For women I like to average about a pound/week fat loss, so if you have 15 pounds to lose you'll want to be on your game 15 weeks out.  Men can typically lose weight at a slightly higher rate than women.

The real key to bodybuilding is to lose the fat, but keep as much muscle as possible.  Drastic and rapid weight loss is not what we want.  A slow steady burn of the fat, using the tools of diet, cardio, and weights is what gets us to peak shape.

Rachelle, a true warrior, client and friend of mine has been blogging her entire contest preparation, which I have been helping her with, on her blog titled, "Body Building 101."  Besides being absolutely hilarious, Rachelle has really captured the steepness of the learning curve, and the painstaking detail and discipline that getting into elite shape requires.  Follow along at:

In addition to peak shape, bodybuilding requires a unique skillset of physque presentation and showmanship.  Gracefully hitting the mandatory poses without shaking or cramping takes a lot of practice.  In addition, most shows require a personal night show routine set to music.  An example of a recent routine can be seen in the video below.

Here's a shot of Eileen's rear double bicep the month she began training with me.  She had a lot of promise at this stage, and I knew she'd put on muscle with how hard she trains.  She really made some great gains once she increased her protein!

Eileen less than a year later, and only a pound or two heavier (~102 lbs), but she's really transformed her body.  All she needs is a little Pro-tan and I think she's ready for the stage!

Figure competitions are another area I can provide coaching in.  Although I haven't done a figure show myself, the dieting and training process is very similar, and I've been to many shows and have helped friends prepare for these events.  I'm actually thinking about giving the high heels a go sometime this year if my schedule allows.  Here's a pic of one of my best friends, Jen (middle).  She's a long-time NPC figure athlete with a gorgeous body.
