Thank you so much for everything.  I really appreciate the small fire you started in me five years ago!   All the help and advice you gave me to get started on this path was priceless.  I always talk about you as well, I still refer to you as "my trainer in Tucson.” Thanks so much for inspiring, pushing me and encouraging me Lisa.

What can I say about Lisa, Jason, and Eileen?

They changed my life. 

I met Lisa at a critical point in my life.  I had let my health, weight, and physical fitness all decline and it was negatively affecting my career.  I needed a push in the right direction and Lisa gave it to me. 

Lisa is inspirational, motivational, encouraging, strong, caring, and knowledgeable.  She helped me not only to get healthier but to want to get healthier.  She showed me that it’s not all about diet fads and quick workouts once a week.  She showed me that it’s a way of life. 

Lisa, Jason, and Eileen worked hard with me and challenged me to be the best person I could be.  And it wasn’t only for my physical fitness but my life.  They were wonderful companions and mentors. 

I don’t know what I would have done if it weren’t for them.  I’m sad that I moved and can no longer work out with them but they will be a part of my life forever.

I met Lisa a year and a half ago. I’ve always been athletic, always liked working out and playing sports. I can say I am one of those lucky few who actually truly find enjoyment in going to the gym and working out.

I had been lifting weights pretty consistently before I met Lisa, so I already had some knowledge and foundation. But it always felt like I was missing some pretty essential parts of the proverbial puzzle. I felt like I had reached a plateau with my workouts, and in a way I was stuck in a rut.

Then one day I went to Lisa’s Muscle Power Flex class. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been full of myself, but when I stepped into the workout room, I looked around and felt pretty good about myself. That is until Lisa showed up and showed me what it’s like to lift until I could lift no more! I was hooked! Somebody could actually get me challenged and motivated again. And the rest is history.

I’ve been working out with Lisa and training for a bodybuilding competition for a year and a half now. What’s even better, I’ve made it into the Pack (which consists of Lisa, Jason, Flex and Kitty). That’s simply the best thing that’s ever happened to me! The things I’ve learned from my Pack in and outside of the gym are the kind that no amount of money can ever buy. I am 32 years old and I am in the best shape of my life!

But by far the coolest thing about this entire experience is that this is just the beginning. I am a small person (normally 100lbs, 5’1). I’ve been doing 115lb squats, and 145lb deadlifts. And I haven’t found my limit yet. I never knew how strong I was until Lisa showed me how to tap into that potential with proper training and especially proper nutrition.

I’ve known other personal trainers and see them at gyms all around, I’m sure all very qualified and with proper credentials. Lisa is different. She has all kinds of certifications and qualifications, and she is a professional bodybuilder to top it all. But that’s not what I’m getting at. What she does and how she does is talent incarnate. Hell, in my book, that’s art!

My doctor has been extremely happy about the exercise program that I've been doing with Lisa.   He said he could really see the change in my body!!! Also my bloodpressure is way down...
 
All of this has, in turn, made me very happy!!!

Thanks to you, Lisa I am able to get my health back again...

It has been a difficult four years for me...but I feel now I can start to do things for ME!!!

I went to the gym yesterday morning and worked out. The guy on duty watched me do some weight training and said I was doing it right.

Who did I learn from?

I told him Lisa Brightman :)

That's what you hear when you try to tell Lisa Brightman that you 'work out'.

 
From the moment I met her, I knew she was the vessel.  For the first time in 36 years, I was scared straight into the gym.  I'm not kidding.  After our first workout, and my homework assignments - I knew, come the next week - I had to be accountable.

 
My experience was organic. So much more than physical.  Because Lisa was a girlfriend.  We giggled, talked about boys, and made fun of ridiculous people.  Before I knew it, our hour session was up, and I had loved every minute.  I always brought cheesy music.  Which totally rocked.  I actually never wanted to leave!!

 
Before I knew it, 5 months had passed, and it was time for me to move on.  I was sad to leave Monterey, but not for reasons one might think.  Would I miss my job? Friends? Yeah...notsomuch. I was going to miss my trainer.

Thanks to Lisa's immaculate skills, and driving force, I lost 30 pounds.  That was March 2009.  It's now January 2010, and I am down a total of 45 pounds.  I've never felt better in my life, because I always hesitated to realize...this IS MY life  and I'm in the driver's seat!!

 
I'm just thankful Lisa rode shotgun for a spell.

Lisa:

Your workouts are always productive and I get my butt kicked every class.

Honestly, before I attended your first class, I thought I was in pretty good shape, but guess what, I get so much out of your workouts, it's incredible. And here I was, thinking that I know some stuff about working out and lifting.

What's helping me the most I think, is that you go over the mechanics involved in each exercise, and explain each step, and what it does to your muscles, and to which muscles. I find myself really paying attention to form now. I have never felt this sore before from working out! Which tells me that I am actually working all my muscles properly now.
